My association with Riverview Primary and Nursery School and has been long and happy spanning over ten years both as a parent and as a Governor. I was appointed as a Chair of Governors in 2014, My experience throughout this time has been extremely rewarding and has enabled me to talk regularly with children, staff and parents to understand how together we can raise standards and enhance and improve school life. My duties involve supporting the Head teacher and senior teachers across many aspects of school business and enable me to be regularly involved in monitoring children’s progress and achievement at the school.

My motive for becoming a school governor was to give something back to both the school and the community. I believe that children deserve the best that we as adults can give them they are our future, and a great way to do this is by giving them the best education that we can to give them the all round skills and knowledge to help them fulfil their full potential.

My day job is to visit schools on behalf of an Educational Service Provider. I have a number of years’ experience in Primary, Secondary and Further Education. I am married with 6 children and 3 grandchildren, the youngest born in August 2018. I am keen to help support Riverview in any way possible.

I have spent most of my working life caring for children.  At home as a registered childminder and then as a Nanny to a family of 3 children. I have found a sense of humour is required which hopefully I have. At River View it has been my pleasure to help with the children's reading and hope to carry on doing this. I hope I am approachable and that people will find me a good listener. Finally I'm here for River View Staff, Parents/Carers and above all the children.
