Forest School
Year 1 have loved exploring outdoors. We have learnt to follow rules that help keep us safe and learnt rules to lots of new games. We loved exploring and going on a scavenger hunt to see what special items we could find. One of our favourite sessions was when we read 'We are going on a bear hunt' by Michael Rosen and then had to go on a bear hunt of our own. We had great fun making caves for them out of natural materials we found.
During Science week, we read Jack and the Beanstalk and we discussed what the magic beans needed in order for them to grow. We were very good at understanding how the process of plants growing linked to this year’s theme of ‘time’. Then, we planted our own beans so we can observe them grow over time. We also got to examine frogspawn and talk about the life cycle of a frog.
