Our topic this term is 'Off on an Adventure!'
To start off our topic we have been enjoying the story 'Whatever Next', where Baby Bear finds a rocket, makes friends with an owl and has a picnic on the moon!
It's a beautiful story full of imagination.
Every week in Nursery, Baby Bear and our Nursery children will find themselves on a different adventure. They will be travelling by rocket and visiting Space, Dinosaur Land, the farm and the seaside. They will also be going on adventures into the forest, under the sea and at the bottom of the garden.
To begin our topic, ‘Off on an Adventure’, we have been creating ‘Owl on toast’, inspired by the story, ‘Whatever Next’.
Using chocolate spread and fruit to create the owl’s face, the children have done a fantastic job in preparing a tasty snack.
The children have been spreading, chopping and eating this scrumptious snack, it was definitely tricky to not get messy! We discussed together which of the foods that we used are healthy and which are not so healthy. We talked about making sure that we only eat chocolate spread occasionally and that fruit is really good for us, so we can eat lots of fruit everyday.
Please have a look at our photos to see how much fun we had whilst learning about healthy and not so healthy foods.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
