Mallard class have really enjoyed World Book Day. As a school, we have all read the book The Parrot Tico Tango and completed lots of fun activities relating to the text. Scroll down to have a look at some photos from our day.

To begin our morning, we created some fruit meringues. First we whisked milk to make a dream topping. we then peeled and chopped different fruits to add to our toppings. 

Later on, we played some different musical instruments. We assigned a musical instrument to each animal in the story. We then built a musical sequence as the story grew. 

We were so lucky to welcome people from the Caribbean Centre. They taught us some Caribbean dancing and taught us how to limbo!

Finally, we decorated our own parrot using different fruits from the story to print and create patterns.
