Autumn 1
This half-term in history we are looking at the Vikings in Year 5. Specifically, we will be looking at whether they were considered traders, raiders, settlers or something else?
We began our unit of learning by creating timelines of the Viking period in Britain. The children had great fun ordering the events, using the scale they had created on their timelines.
This week in history Year 5 were learning about Viking trade routes. We looked at several different routes and discussed what the Vikings traded and what they received in exchange. The children enjoyed working in groups, creating board games to help other people learn about specific Viking trading routes.
