Spring term 1:

The children started the spring term by looking at word problems. These word problems drew on their prior knowledge of the four operations. We looked specifically at using the column method and bar models to help us find our answers.

Next, the children will be looking at graph work, specifically reading tables and line graphs. The children will look at reading timetables for trains, and plotting their own line graphs too. 

The children will end the spring term by completing work on fractions. The children will master key vocabulary such as proper fractions, improper fractions, common denominator and equivalent fractions.
