Spring
We’ve had a great start back to our maths focusing on shape. We are now confident recognising and naming 2D shapes and describing their properties, how many sides and corners they each have. We have also started to learn about some 3D shapes, naming them and recognising them in every day objects.
We have learnt lots about measuring, we’ve measured using non standards like cubes, rubbers, hands and feet. We’ve also learnt how to use our rulers this week to measure in centimetres.
We have been working really hard to learn our numbers to 40 and to recognise the place value of each number using tens and ones, we have also been working on identifying greater and smaller numbers.
We have been multiplying using groups and dividing using sharing, we have been fantastic at it but need to keep practising counting in twos, fives and tens.
