The Colorful History of Crayons

Chess

After reading about White Crayon becoming a queen in a chess set, we were interested in how to play chess. We learnt how to set up the board, what each piece can do, and we had a go at playing in pairs or small teams.

Geography

We learnt about compass points and used them to direct Duncan to his crayons!

Science

We used crayons to represent different types of rock: sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic.

Forming sedimentary rock

Heating to create magma

Cooling to solidify into igneous rock
