The Ugly Five
We started off our English learning about The Ugly Five by Julia Donaldson. We loved pretending to be the animals and moving like them to African music. We also made some of the animals out of modelling clay and used adjectives to describe them. We made some brilliant sentences about them.

We love grammar and we have had so much fun playing games to help us learn about common nouns and proper nouns.

We have all really loved reading this book, especially the part where he burps out all of the characters!
We learnt all about rhyming words, chapter descriptions, sentence structure and even had a go at planning and creating our own stories.
