Local Bridges
This term, we are investigating bridges in Burton-on-Trent. In our first lesson, we used the iPads to research Burton bridge, Ferry bridge and St. Peter’s bridge.
To conclude our learning all about bridges in Burton, we did a local walk to visit Ferry Bridge. We could also see St Peter’s Bridge nearby. We drew some amazing pictures of the bridges!
Design Technology
In DT we have been exploring structures and different joins. We have focused on slot joins and flange joins in our learning. We were set a task of designing a bridge using paper. It had to include a slot and flange join and be strong enough to hold the three Billy Goats.
