Materials

We predicted which material would be the best to fix a torn umberella. We decided that the material needs to be waterproof. Next we put a range of materials to the test.

We conducted an ice experiment where we observed a block of ice throughout the day. We discussed and trialed methods for both speeding and slowing the melting of the ice.

For our first materials lesson we passed around lots of different objects, before sorting them into different material groups we discussed each material properties using our senses. We have been using some amazing technical vocabulary... flexible, rough, transparent, opaque, rigid!
