At River View, we believe that Physical Education (PE) plays a crucial role in not only promoting the physical development of our pupils, but also their social, emotional, and cognitive development. We intend to provide a high-quality PE curriculum that engages all children, of all abilities, in a range of activities to foster a lifelong love for physical activity and well-being. We believe that through our PE lessons, children will develop their RICHER values and essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and respect, which will positively impact their overall academic achievements and well-being.
Sports Day 2024!
After School Dance Club
In Spring and Summer term 2024, some of River View's Year 5 and Year 6 children took part in an inter-school dance competition. All of our children performed fantastically, but a special well done to precious (Y5) who not only won gold in her category, she achieved the highest score in the whole competition!
OPAL
Physical Education is not just a lesson on the timetable - it is happening all the time! Although the children may not know it, they are learning through play with our amazing Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) lunch times! As well as being active and of course, having fun, the children are developing their creativity, independence, strategic thinking, teamwork, self-regulation... the list could go on!
