Plants
We started our new topic on plants by naming all the flowers and trees we knew. We then explored to See what plants we could find in our local environment and identified them. We then thought about some different categories we could sort the different plants into.
We have been learning all about the different parts of plants, we loved taking the flower apart and exploring.
We had so much fun using our scientific skills to identify, classify and group plants in a variety of ways. We went on a plant hunt to find out what was growing in our local environment, used our identifying sheets to name them and then used their characteristics to sort them using yes and no questions to help us.
We have been learning about the different types of trees, evergreen and deciduous. We enjoyed going on a leaf hunt and using our identifier key to find what tree they belonged to. After, we explored all the different characteristics of our leaves and sorted them into groups.
