The Owl who was afraid of the dark

In English this term, we are focusing on a book called The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson. We are working towards writing a non-chronological report.

To hook the children into our new book, we had our fireworks party where we made toffee apples and made pictures of fireworks.

This week we wrote our own fireworks poems using the same structure as the Finger Story by Michael Rosen. In groups we performed these poems thinking about our expressions and gestures.

The children enjoyed finding out more about owls during our owl workshop. They got to hold and fly the different types of owls.
